Elon Musk cofounded seven companies, including electric car maker Tesla, rocket producer SpaceX and artificial intelligence startup xAI.
Tesla
He owns about 12% of Tesla, which he first backed in 2004, and which he's led as CEO since 2008. He also owns options to acquire another 8%.
Twitter (now know as X)
Musk led a group that bought Twitter for $44 billion in 2022. He merged it with xAI in 2025 in deal that valued the combined company at $113 billion (net of debt).
SpaceX
SpaceX, founded in 2002, acquired xAI in February 2026 in a deal that valued the combined company at $1.25 trillion. Musk owns a nearly 40% stake.
The Boring Company & Neuralink
Elon also founded tunneling startup The Boring Company and brain implant outfit Neuralink. The two startups have raised around $2 billion from private investors combined.

Mark Cuban’s Visionary Entrepreneurial Projects
1. Broadcast.com & Digital Streaming Pioneer
In 1995, Cuban co‑founded Broadcast.com (originally AudioNet) with Todd Wagner, one of the earliest streaming platforms for audio/video content. Yahoo!'s 1999 acquisition of the company for $5.7 billion solidified Cuban’s status as a visionary in digital media.
2. MicroSolutions & Early Tech Roots
Cuban’s entrepreneurial journey began with MicroSolutions—a systems integrator he built after being fired—later selling it to CompuServe for around $6 million in 1990. That early win reinforced his ethos of grit and self-learning.
3. Dallas Mavericks & Sports Innovation
Acquired in 2000, Cuban transformed the undervalued Mavericks into a modern powerhouse by investing in analytics, facilities, and fan experience. The franchise won its first NBA championship in 2011. He sold majority ownership in 2023 but still holds a significant stake and remains active in operations.

Launched in January 2022, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company is upending pharmaceutical pricing with a transparent model: manufacturer’s cost plus a 15% markup, with small flat service and shipping fees. The company aims to make life‑saving generics accessible to millions.
6. Philanthropy & Education via Mark Cuban Foundation
Through AI Bootcamps and other programs, Cuban supports underserved high-school students in gaining AI and tech skills—nearly 700 participated across 30+ locations in 2024, with many moving toward entrepreneurship
